Sunday at Marché Raspail

Veggies at the Market

Today I discovered the all-organic Marché Raspail that takes place on Sundays.  There were piles of fresh vegetables, seafood,  hormone-free meat, pasture raised eggs and delicious cheese.  It was absolutely beautiful.  I felt like I was coming home.

I was excited to find kale and chard for the first time since moving to Paris.  My bounty included sweet potatoes, leeks, onions, kale, chard, brussels sprouts, parsnips, dill, pre-cooked beets, celery, lemons, blood oranges a couple of cannellés, eggs, and a bunch of tulips.  My plan for dinner is to make slow-cooked leeks, sweet potatoes and parsnips, and sauté chard with beets and walnuts.  I will serve this with leftover pouli roti.  I’m already salivating.  I can’t wait to cook up some delicious healthiness!
